replacing my Intel Core i5-2500

Good evening.

I have to replace my Intel Core i5-2500 with a newer one because this one is note running windows 11.

Is there anyone who knows a good replacement CPU.

The old one  (i5-2500) has a 1155 socket, so the new should also have that same socket.

Thanks in advance.

There is no processor for Socket 1155 that is formally supported by Windows 11. Now, this doesn't mean that Windows 11 can't be used - it most certainly can - it just means that is isn't formally supported.

There is no processor that is 8th gen or later that will that socket.

But, do not let that stop you from running W11.  Read this:

I have gone as low as a 3rd gen processor.  A 2nd gen processor may work.  Also, your motherboard should have a bios update that will allow you to use a 3rd gen processor.
