what is box and tray

http://ark.intel.com/products/family/88394/6th-Generation-Intel-Core-i3-Processors# @Desktop http://ark.intel.com/products/family/88394/6th-Generation-Intel-Core-i3-Processors# @Desktop when we open the above url we can find different processors of 6th gen core i3 in that list there is recommended customer price in that they give rates for box and tray.Now my question is what is tray and box.And for some processor they provide only tray price.I dont know what is box and tray for processors and why they give only tray price for some processor.If any one knows about it.Please give me reply with complete explanation

Tray processors are found in pre-build systems that are integrated by OEMs, meaning that these prices are for those manufactures (OEMs) and the ones that only have TRAY price would be only available in pre-build systems.

 

A boxed processor is the one you can purchase to place inside your new rig (computer), these can be puchased by end users.

 

TRAY: used in OEM systems

 

Box: used by end users
