We use 10M08SCE144I7G CPLD, and colleagues in the department wonder whether outsiders have the opportunity to read or copy the burned data from this IC through JTAG or other methods.

Hello,

If you have access to JTAG to this device, you can download the programming file which you already programmed into the device by enabling the "examine" option in the Quartus Programmer tool.

Dear Farabi,

What I want to express is that we are worried that the programming data of CPLD will be read out using JTAG or other methods.

Is there a protection mechanism to prevent data from being copied out ?

Hi,

You don't have to worry as the data is encrypted. They can only get the image not the design. However, you can option to apply the design security feature for MAX10 for extra security.
