Intel/Altera CPLD part number 5M40ZE64C5N, I need quantity 210 ASAP for production units.

The lead time on this and other similar CPLDs have a long lead time.

  1. Are you able to suggest a similar part with 64 pins.
  2. Is there a substitute/replacement you can suggest?
  3. Is there a substitute/replacement you can suggest that is readily available?

Hi Spectrum,
I was able to find out similar devices of 5M40ZE64C4/I5N with help of www.findchips.com. According to the user spec a speed parameter is better.

Martin

5M40ZE64C4/I5N

How can a part be both a C4 AND an I5?

Easy.

Speed grade 4 is faster than speed grade 5.

C range temp is narrower than I range temp.

So a C4 timing spec device over 0'C to 85'C can also meet I5 timing spec over -40'C to 100'C.

So a dual marked C4/I5 device is certainly possible.

Yeah, I figured it out a little later on.  I had the 4 and 5 speeds backwards.  The brain wanted to believe the 5 was faster.
