A current batch of EPM7128SLC84-15N device has high current draw on 5V power supply pins

In service these devices have come back with shorted power supply pins that draw excessive current when the device fails. What can be causing this problem?

I am not sure , look this device is obsolete; did you check with vendor you purchased ?
