BeMicro SDK trouble

I am trying to upload a uClinux kernel on to a BeMicro SDK board, but am having an issue with the nios2 terminal hanging. This may not exactly be the place for the question (if it isn't, by all means, please move it), but what could be the cause of a problem in which the nios2 terminal prints out 65 characters before freezing up? This is what happens after uploading the kernel and calling the nios2 terminal inside of the command shell.

I know this could have to do more with the actual kernel build process, but if I could at least identify some basic cause of this problem, that could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for the help.
