Boot AND run Bare-Metal Application from FPGA?

Hello. We are using a Cyclone V SoC FPGA. In the HPS boot guide, there is an option to boot from FPGA. There are many tutorials about this, but most feature a bare-metal application running from SD card.

Our design does not include an SD card. Is it possible to boot from FPGA *and* jump to the bare-metal application *inside* the FPGA fabric or external SDRAM? We cannot run the bare-metal application out of an SD card like many of the tutorials.

If this is possible, where might we configure the address that the preloader jumps to in order to start running the bare-metal application?
