Collateral for the Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit needed

The former www.altera.com support page linked from Terasic here:

https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=138&No=750&PartNo=4#contents

No longer exists:

https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-siv-gx.html

Can you provide downloads for all linked files?

In particular, I need all versions of "Kit installation" and the reference designs.

Thanks!

Hello

Welcome to INTEL forum. FYI, Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit Board belongs to Terasic. You can find the  User Manual, Daughter Card Demos, CD-ROM in https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=138&No=683&PartNo=4#contents

It would be better if you could contact Terasic for enquiry related to Terasic board. https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=12&No=20

Please accept my apologies for not being able to assist you fully as this is out of my expertise.

Thanks for your response. Note that the Terasic link you provided if for the TR4 which is a different board.

Although the "Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit Board" was made by Terasic (https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=138&No=750&PartNo=4#contents), it appears to have been in close cooperation with Altera. The board resources were hosted on Altera's website (https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-siv-gx.html). If you look at the linked Terasic page, you'll see that the "Kit Installation" link points to the link above.

Here is the most recent capture of the support page in question from archive.org:

https://web.archive.org/web/20171130021953/https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-siv-gx.html

Here are links to the needed files on the former Altera FTP site (extracted from the archive.org capture).

ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/91/stratixIVGX_4sgx230es_fpga_v9.1.0.exe

ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/91/stratixIVGX_4sgx230_fpga_v9.1.2.exe

ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/11.1/stratixIVGX_4sgx230_fpga_v11.1.0.exe

ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/10.0/stratixIVGX_4sgx530_fpga_v10.0.1.exe

ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/devkit/11.1/stratixIVGX_4sgx530_fpga_v11.1.0.exe

I've actually contacted Terasic asking for the files and they directed me to ask here. I think this recommendation is correct since the required files were hosted on ftp://ftp.altera.com/...

Thanks!

Hello

The Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit Board is very old and unsupported by us now.

I'm not sure and can’t guarantee you that I will find it - however I will have a look around to see whether it is still available.

Pls share with me CNDA number and your details for verification purpose before I can request the kit installer to be share with you. Thanks.

Thanks for looking into the missing files.

Unfortunately, as an individual I do not have a CNDA number. I do have one of these development kits and an existing design I'd like to demo and port to a newer part. Although this development kit is not new, the Stratix IV device is still supported in Quartus Prime Standard as of version 21.1.

I'm surprised that a CNDA is required considering that the files themselves were on a public Altera FTP site until some time after Intel acquired Altera. The user guide and reference manual are still publicly available on on this website and actively reference the files in question.

User Guide:

Hi

Apologizes for the delay and inconvenience happens, the CNDA number is a requirement set by engineering team upon requesting an End of Life (EOL) feature/installation.

We been doing searching, but the Stratix IV GX FPGA Development Kit installation is not available in our storage data nor personal kept data.

We reach out our Shanghai board team and have yet to receive feedback form them. We shall revert back with finding.

Thanks

Thanks for continuing to check.

If it helps, remember that the missing files were all present on the Altera FTP server. As a FTP server it would have been a single monolithic filesystem. I expect that afte acquiring Altera, Intel would have immediately backed up a copy of the Altera file server. Is it worth looking for that?

Hi

Thanks for your patience. There are two versions of the board-Stratix IV GX EP4SGX230KF40C2N FPGA/Stratix IV GX EP4SGX530KH40C2N FPGA. Which that you require?

We have not heard from you and I hope that my last email clears up this matter. If you don’t have any further question, I will now transition this thread to community support. If you have a new question, feel free to open a new thread to get the support from Intel experts. Otherwise, the community users will continue to help you on this thread. Thank you.
