I have an older (now phased out) DE2 board, and I'd like to use it to clock a PCB at 50 MHz. Can I use the SMA connector as an output? It is designated as the "External clock input".
If I can't use it as an output, what is the best alternative? I don't think a regular GPIO pin should carry a 50 MHz signal.

Hello
Welcome to INTEL forum. For clock setting on the DE2 board it would be better if you could contact Terasic for enquiry related to Terasic board. https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=12&No=20
Please accept my apologies for not being able to assist you fully as this is out of my expertise
