Hi,

Could any one explain me the exact difference between quartus_tan and quartus_sta comands. Which one should be used for the best results....

How do we differentiate these two commands... what exactly is the differing factor,..

Please let me know....

Thanks,

Sri.

TAN is old, and just available for designs that were run with it. _sta is TimeQuest, i.e. the new and more powerful timing analysis tool. New devices are only supported in TimeQuest.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the reply...

But is there any performance difference between these two.... If so in what aspect they are different...

Moreover the _sta has the capability of taking input in the form of .sdc... Is this option available for _tan ?

Will it be good to use only _sta rather than _tan... as it is new and defenetly one could expect better results from it ...

Please reply for my queries ...

Bye,

Sri
