Hi,
I use Cyclone 10 GX devices.
Quartus version is 17.1 pro, and use MT25Q Flash device.
I found that when I use the .rpd file of the ASx1, the function of the FPGA after power-on is normal.
But when I use ASx4's .rpd file , DDR3 calibration fails after FPGA power-on(But other functions are normal).
All designs are the same, except for selecting a different Mode when Convert programming file, as shown below
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks for your answers.

Hi,
I think you can refer to this KDB:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/articles/000076544.html
Please let me know if that help.

Adzim

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
In my case, the device of MT25QU can be used normally (in the case of ASx1)
And ASx4 also seems to have successfully configured the FPGA (but only the EMIF calibration failed)
Could you give me some advice?
Thanks for your answers.

Hi,
Actually the EMIF calibration won't be affected by this configuration.
If you can provide the EMIF Calibration report from the EMIF Debug Toolkit, that would be help.
Thanks,
Adzim

Hi Adzim,
Thank you very much for your reply, here is a screenshot of my result,
These two results are the file results converted by the same .sof, one is ASx1 (calibration pass) and the other is ASx4 (Calibration Fail).
In addition, I also tried to set the NVCR, but it does not seem to improve the situation.
Thanks for your answers.

Hello,
I hope you have a good day.
Do you able to see this issue when you moving to later Quartus version?
Can you provide the steps for me to reproduce the issue from my side?

Hi Adzim,
Thank you for your continued help. I think I found a temporary solution, although I don't know the real problem.
When I change the MSEL setting from fast to normal, the ASx4 configuration will not cause EMIF to fail.
I don't know why POR time is the main reason for this phenomenon, what do you think?
Thanks for your answers.

Hello,
I'm not sure what is the exact reason for that behavior.
Maybe the KDB can provide some info to you.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/articles/000076544.html
If you need a particular support on that area, you can create a new thread in the Intel Community to get help from Intel expert.

Adzim
