Hi,

On a obsolete application I success to download the firmware (.pof file) of an EPM9320RC208-15 EPLD.

1_ I would like to know if it possible with the .pof file to determine equations?

2_ Wich component can we use to deal with obsolescence ?

I used MAX+Plus II to save the .pof file. Perhaps I have to generate an another file ?

Thanks for you help.

Best regards.

1) Reverse engineering a .pof file (while technically possible, given enough information) is not possible since Altera/Intel do not provide the tools or information to do so. So the answer is no.

2) EPM9320RC208-15 went obsolete in 2007 per PDN0706. Suggested replacement is EPM570M256C5N which is a superset device (ie, it is NOT in the same package as your EPM9320 device). It is NOT a direct replacement. There is no direct replacement. The EPM570 device would require a new board layout AND software recompilation.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but that EPM9302 device is REALLY old.
