My question is about Flash

I need to understand the operation mode of Flash like Serial and Quad-Serial; What is the difference between them?

and Can the same part work on the 2 modes?

Hi Mahmoud,

serial or x1: serial communication via 1 input and 1 output pin

quad-serial or x4: quad-serial communication via 4 input/output pins

A CFG device capable of quad-serial mode is able to work in serial mode also. A CFG device capable of serial mode only is not able to work in quad-serial mode.

For more information I would recommend to check datasheet for serial CFG devices (https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/cfg/cyc_c51014.pdf) and quad-serial CFG devices (https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/cfg/cfg_cf52012.pdf) at Altera web page.

Regards,

Martin
