How to set SLOW SLEW RATE in Quartus 17 lite for MAX10 (10M08SCE144C8G)

Hi all,

I made my first design with a MAX10 FPGA (part is 10M08SCE144C8G).I'm looking how to change the SLEW RATE under Quartus 17 Lite edition but I cannot see any option under settings menu (like it happens, for example, for MAX7000 devices where I can set a global SLOW SLEW RATE).Is something possible with MAX10 devices and, if yes, how to do it?Thanks in advance.

Hi,
as explained in device manual

Programmable Output Slew-Rate Control

The programmable output slew-rate control is available for single-ended I/O standards with current strength of 8 mA or higher. You have the option of three settings for programmable slew rate control — 0, 1, and 2 with 2 as the default setting. Setting 0 is the slow slew rate and 2 is the fast slew rate.
• Fast slew-rate—provides high-speed transitions for high-performance systems.
• Slow slew-rate—reduces system noise and crosstalk but adds a nominal delay to the rising and falling edges.

You can specify the slew-rate on a pin-by-pin basis because each I/O pin contains a slew-rate control. The slew-rate control affects both the rising and falling edges.

Thanks for your reply.

I knew about the programmable output slew-rate control feature of MAX10 FPGA but I can't find the option under Quartus 17 Lite.Is something perhaps I have to set under the "Assignement editor" menu?

Hi,

yes either set in assignment editor or pin planner.

Hi,

Did you manage to successfully change the setting for the slew rate option as mentioned?

Regards,

Aqid
