I'm working on DE2i-150 board, why am I not able to generate .sof file in Quartus 2 v12.1 software? How can I get the license file for Quartus 2 design software v12.1? can I use the 19 version of the software to program the FPGA in DE2i-150 board?

I have started using DE2i-150 development board for educational purposes. i have installed the Quartus 2 v12.1 software from the DVD provided along with the kit. i am not able to generate .sof file and program the FPGA.
