Hello.

It turned out that pinA1 marked wrong on real device\chip. I suppose all documents from altera.com is OK, but real chip is wrong.

On real device G8 short-circuited to G9, and K8 to K9. I see tracks of core power net by viewing bottom side of chip.

I have 7 devices.

Marking:

-------------

EP2C8F256I8

K BBB9Y0537A

MALAYSIA

NBB9Y33702

3Q3KA5T0E

-------------

I understand mirror\flip effects.

As result, i must soldering this chip to board (Board designed by standard EDA library, and this library is OK). How to rotate a chip? CW or CCW? All power nets is symmetrical.

If I read that right... All the documents are right, only the chip is wrong.

That is a very unique way of looking at a problem.:)

Yes. Now we try to determine position by simply upload dummy firmware by Byte-Blaster.

Done.

If anyone will have same problem:

As you see, Altera developers made small rectangle in bottom between A1 and B2 pins.

Thanks for sharing this.

Could you also post an image of the top of the chip and mark pin A1 with an arrow like you did on the bottom image.

I would highly appriciate that.

Thanks in advance, Ton

I recorded video for you. I suppose you will not use this against Altera company.

Avi file by link:

As you see on video A1 pin located at top-left corner on bottom side of chip, and it must be at bottom-left corner on top side of chip.

Statistic: 1 chip is good, 4 chip CCW, and 2 chip CW (1 is already soldered).

I've seen the video. This is absurd. You should contact your supplier. These parts could be counterfeit parts. Did you already test the one which has been soldered?

The last one in the video doesn't have the copper pattern (or it is not visible in the video). How do you determine A1 on this device?

Again, thanks for sharing this.

Good luck with your project,

Probably yes. Or somebody change marking of parts.

Yes, but only programmed in passive by ByteBlaster with successful result.

This chip has other colour of bottom. Dark dark green or black. Rectangle was visible in the reflection.
