MAX 10 Device ID (Chip ID)

We have difficulty to fine enough onboard MAX10 device for our products. We are seeking alternative parts.

One of the issue is remote upgrade. We plan to use FPGA Device ID/Chip ID through JAM STAPL/JTAG reading. Unfortunately, I can’t find the info about the Device ID values.

The list below is our potential alternative parts. Can you help me find the Device ID for each of them?

Hi,

Thank you contacting Intel community.

Per my understanding, you are looking for information on Unique Chip ID. Kindly refer to below user guide for further information:

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/hb/max-10/ug_m10_config.pdf (page 21)

Hi Aiman,

Thanks for help!

I read all these documents. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the specific values for any device. I need Chip ID VALUE for the devices I listed  so that if we get any of them as alternative part we can remotely upgrade the FPGA based on the device ID.

Would you please dig out these values for me?

Thanks.

Tim

Hi,

As mention in Intel MAX 10 configuration user guide page 21, 2.2.2.2:

You can use the Unique Chip ID Intel FPGA IP core to acquire the chip ID of your Intel MAX 10 device.

So, to get the chip ID for each of the device, you will need to use the Unique Chip ID IP first.

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/hb/max-10/ug_m10_config.pdf...

Hope this clarify.

Regards,

Aiman

Hi Aiman,

If I have these chips, sure I can do that. The problem is I don't have these chips.

The issue comes from the chip shortage, we prepare the SW roadmap for whatever we can get.

Again, I am looking for exact Chip ID values somewhere documented in Intel/Altera's document, I am sure these ID values are defined and documented. Apparently, I couldn't find it from published ones. Please help me find them.

Thanks.

Tim

Hi,

The Chip ID contain wafer and lot number, so unique chip ID is confidential, hence Intel does not publish the chip ID in any documents.

And we also do not have the information for each devices.

Aiman

Hello!

Can you tell me which bits are corresponding to device type(name)?

I have started to check our boards which I put MAX10(10M08SC) on. Unique Chip ID's values seems to be different at some bits between each board.

Unique Chip ID includes Lot number and x, y cordinate of the die? It is shown on video "Using the Arria 10 Unique Chip ID feature"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9-DX20rJ0U

I cannot identify a device type because I do not know where is the part corresponding to the device type(name) in 64 bits.

Thank you very much.
