MAX10 dual bitstream in Flash without NIOS

Not sure if this is right place to ask. For MAX10, I am looking for an app note/reference design to understand how to have dual boot feature. The Flash or QSPI flash stores dual configuration - a backup and primary copy. Both to be programmed in the flash and future field upgrade are done only to primary copy. The factory bitstream is there as golden image but the board will always powerup with primary bitstream. Only during remote or field upgrade, the factory bitstream runs to manage the programming the primary copy location in flash. There is no NIOS  in the design either. Looking to understand how to download two bitstream to MAX10 without NIOS.
