Pin Compatibility 5CGXFC7 5CGXFC9

Dear Customer Service,

are the pins of 5CGXFC7 5CGXFC9 (both F23 package) compatible?

Means can the FPGAs be replaced without schematics redesign?

I tried to find out by pin file compare.

I also know about the pin planner migration option - but it seems that the feature only works for a completed (not for a future) project.

But I'm still not sure about compatibility.

Does anybody know?

Regards

Hi,

The Quartus Prime software helps to plan migration of the design to a different density device in the same family. You should indicate that to the software early in your design by selecting devices that are available for migration (Assignments -> Device -> Migration Devices). The tool then allocates pins to the design which are common in the migratable device.
