Hi,

A customer of mine has different version of license for the Quartus II and megacores.

Quartus II: 2010.12 (support latest and before)

megacore: 2009.12 (support 9.1 and before)

Can he generate sof file in the following case?

(1) Creating a megacore with 9.1 and compile the design with 9.1sp1

(2) Creating a megacore with 9.1sp1 and compile the design with 9.1sp1

Thanks,

good question.

i had a similar problem and the first thing what my FAE did was to equalize them with the next renewal ....

Yes this should work some megacores like FIR copy the required files and add the relatives paths to the QIP file, so i have some FIRs for example that are updated last time with 9.0 and still compile with 9.1SP1 without a 9.0 installation.

i think SP1 is a service pack (bug fixes) of an existing funktional version 9.1 so it should be part of the licence as 9.1 was released before 2009-12.

but that is my opinion and experience with different software, a service pack is not a new release
