Since the EPCS line of products is now obsolete, I will be replacing them with EPCQ-A chips. Are there any changes to the hardware that need to be made to accommodate the new chips, or can they be placed directly on the EPCS footprints? How will JIC programming work since the device doesn't show up when converting .SOF to .JIC? (Cyclone II device on Quartus II 13.0)
The pin layout is identical, so am I correct in assuming that after changing the footprint to EPCQ-A, no other changes have to be made?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi,
If you are using the same package then it is a direct migration. For jic file, please refer to AN822 (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/an/an822.pdf)
