We are running RTL simulation on Altera-Modelsim (full version) with the following error: "** Error: Failure to obtain a Verilog simulation license. Unable to checkout any of these license features: alteramtivsim or alteramtivlog". We have the license file with alteramtivsim, and LMTOOLS shows the diagnostic result: ("alteramtivsim" v2012.01, vendor: mgcld
uncounted nodelocked license, locked to ethernet address "b8ca3a79a275" starts: 8-aug-2013, expires: 8-nov-2014). The LMTOOLS log file shows the following : " 8:47:16 (lmgrd) Started mgcld (pid 4920) 8:47:16 (mgcld) Server started on DEPCD705 for: mgcvipae 8:47:16 (mgcld) mgcvipaeaxi mgcvipaeaxi4 alteramtivsim 8:47:16 (mgcld) 8:47:16 (mgcld) Licenses are case sensitive for mgcld 8:47:16 (mgcld) 8:47:16 (mgcld) EXTERNAL FILTERS are OFF 8:47:16 (lmgrd) mgcld using TCP-port 49272 " I have installed the last version of lmgrd (from globes com site), but this didnt solve the problem. Env. variables point to the right lic file. Did anybody get the same problem, how did you solve it? I have atteched the jpg with the printscreen.- Tags:

We've just discussed the problem with people from support. It seems that the license generated here works with tools released before 2012.01. It is seen in license file in line:
INCREMENT alteramtivsim mgcld 2012.01 8-nov-2014 uncounted So the lic is ok, but not for ModelSim ALTERA 10.1d Revision: 2012.11 We've sent to Altera the request for new license.
