Hi.
At work i need to design system with 1G memory. So fastest way is to copy design from devkits. Dev kit i have use 10M50DAF484C6GES chip, and you know what ? You can't buy one anywhere. So why the hell Altera/Intel is providing devkit, for the chip i can't buy ? Now i wanted simply to copy DDR3 circuit so i will know mine would work, but now i can't. Only DDR2 can be used for 10M50DAF484I7 chip. SO does that means it will definitely not going to work with grade 8 (DDR2) ? And funny thing is, 10M50DAF484C6GES is obsolete , like so many chips from MAX10, what a hell ?Link Copied

10M50DAF484C6Ges is an ENGINEERING SAMPLE part number. You need to move to a production part.

I know that. But can you find 6 grade chips to buy anywhere ? No, you can't.

Well, likely could get grade 6 chips to yield as ES, but not as production, so they discontinued that speed grade. Not unheard of.

Why design cannot be ported to I7 part? Speed, ipcore or PHY?
