I am quite new in this, do max10 require external clocking ? Iam using 10M50DAF484C8G. If need which pins should be connected to external clock ?

MAX 10 devices do have an internal oscillator. So, you don't necessarily 'require' and external clock source.
Refer to the 'max 10 clocking and pll user guide (https://www.altera.com/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/max-10/ug_m10_clkpll.pdf)'. However, rather than rely on the internal oscillator most designs will use a, far more accurate, external clock source fed into one of the 'CLK[x]n/p' pins - refer to the device pinout files. hi a_x_h_75,
Because I would like to adapt the 10M50SA (single power) other than 10M50DA in our next project, I would like to make it clear that (1) if SA (single power) series support internal oscillator? BTW, (2) could I use the PLL to cascade with the output of internal oscillator to generate my frequency? thanks for your help.- Mark as New

1) The internal oscillator is supported in all MAX 10 devices.
2) From the User Guide: --- Quote Start --- 3.2.1 Guideline: Connectivity Restrictions You cannot drive the PLLs with internal oscillator. --- Quote End --- Cheers, Alex
