MAX 10 devices do have an internal oscillator. So, you don't necessarily 'require' and external clock source.Refer to the 'max 10 clocking and pll user guide (https://www.altera.com/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/max-10/ug_m10_clkpll.pdf)'. However, rather than rely on the internal oscillator most designs will use a, far more accurate, external clock source fed into one of the 'CLK[x]n/p' pins - refer to the device pinout files. hi a_x_h_75,Because I would like to adapt the 10M50SA (single power) other than 10M50DA in our next project, I would like to make it clear that (1) if SA (single power) series support internal oscillator? BTW, (2) could I use the PLL to cascade with the output of internal oscillator to generate my frequency? thanks for your help.

1) The internal oscillator is supported in all MAX 10 devices.2) From the User Guide: --- Quote Start --- 3.2.1 Guideline: Connectivity Restrictions You cannot drive the PLLs with internal oscillator. --- Quote End --- Cheers, Alex
