sof is incomplete. Hps is present but bootloader information is missing

Hello !

I am working with HPS for ethernet application on Stratix 10 Development kit on Windows.

I tried using the s10-soc-devkit-ghrd example on Quartus Prime pro 2023.

However, when I launch the programmer or the programming file generator, I always receive the same error : ghrd_1sx280lu2f50e2vg.sof is incomplete. Hps is present but bootloader information is missing.

I tried following the commands present on RoketBoard for project building, however nothings does I still don't understand how to add the bootloader to SOF.

Can someone please explain me how I can add the bootloader to the sof?

Best regards,

Hi emiwane,

Referring to this document:

https://www.rocketboards.org/foswiki/Documentation/Stratix10SoCGSRD

When configuring the board(Running GSRD with Pre-Built Binaries), you must flash in the QSPI flash with

ghrd_1sx280lu2f50e2vg.jic first before booting up with sd card

Thanks.

Hi Aik Eu,

Thank you for your answer. However I can't generate the ghrd_1sx280lu2f50e2vg.jic, I receive the same error

ghrd_1sx280lu2f50e2vg.sof is incomplete. Hps is present but bootloader information is missing.

Best regards,

Hi emiwane,

FYI, you can get the pre-built files from example like the jic file from :

https://releases.rocketboards.org/2023.04/gsrd/s10_gsrd/

Are you following the steps from building bootloader for Stratix10 to prepare the QSPI image, referring to Prepare QSPI Image section where it uses nios2 command shell to perform the sof file conversion to jic.

https://www.rocketboards.org/foswiki/Documentation/BuildingBootloaderStratix10

Thanks.
