Can I connect traffic generator to emif ip itself instead of using example design?

No, you have to create an example design.  It's not a standalone IP you can manually add.  You could, of course, create the example design and replace everything other than the traffic generator.

Thank you for replying. I understand TG is not ip.

However, I should be able copy TG files and move them to correct location and instantiate TG as a module and connect it to emif ip in our source code. right?

Hi Sandy,

"However, I should be able copy TG files and move them to correct location and instantiate TG as a module and connect it to emif ip in our source code. right?"

  • Yes you should be able to copy TG and connect to EMIF IP in your design.

The TG is a Platform Designer component, so if you're saying you want to connect it to the rest of your design outside of Platform Designer, that's going to be a bit tricky.  Adzim thinks it's possible, but I'm not sure it will work.
