Will x86 architecture reads the data from FTDI32 chip connected to Com port?

I am trying make my laptop to work as gateway receiver and receives the raw data from wireless vibration sensor with the help of wireless modem connected via USB port and the modem consist of FTDI32 chip in wireless modem.

I am working on industrial project and trying to create the desktop application which detects the vibration of CNC machines from wireless vibration sensor and send the data raw to wireless modem, which can be easily manipulated as per the user's requirement.

Any advice for this solution will be a great help.
