Dell 3580 + Windows 7 = usb ports do not work!

Hi all. There is a need to use a laptop with Windows 7 because of specialized software. But at the same time, USB ports do not work. I can not find the driver. Perhaps Intel did not develop it at all. Driver PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9DD3. How can this problem be solved?

W7 + 7th Gen or later processor = NOT SUPPORTED..

Windows 7 is dead. And, you are likely talking about usb3, right?

Also, Windows 7 is not supported on 7th gen and later processors. That is why dell does not list windows 7 as a supported OS.

Get yourself a machine with a 6th gen or older processor if you want to run this dead OS. Or, you can get Windows 10 Pro and run W7 as a VM in hyper-v.

Also, get your "specialized software" vendor to produce a W10 compatible version.

Al is correct; you cannot run Windows 7 on 7th generation or newer Intel Core processor-based systems. There are simply no drivers to support this.

I would also add that most software designed for Windows 7 can be run on Windows 10 systems just fine. If necessary, you can open the properties for the executable, click on the Compatibility tab and then change the Compatibility Mode to Windows 7.

Has "specialized software" become the moniker for poorly-implemented software? If seems so (just saying).

"Has "specialized software" become the moniker for poorly-implemented software? If seems so (just saying)."

Or, an excuse to try and get support for Windows 7 and not get with the times.
