I use a single 256GB SSD in my Dell 7060 i3-8300. I have no Optane memory and no plans to install any additional SSDs/HDs for additional storage. I am currently getting error messages regarding Intel Optane Memory Pinning and fail to understand why.
Once upon a time, people Installed Intel RST because Intel's storage driver outperformed that from Microsoft. Those days are gone; there is no performance advantage to installing Intel RST. If you don't need RAID and you don't use Optane, there is really no reason to (in BIOS) set the SATA Mode to anything other than AHCI and no reason to install the Intel RST software.
Just my (albeit learned) opinion,
