Enable Acceleration is not available in IRST User Interface

rsThe enable acceleration option isn't listed at all. Why?

Board is a DZ68VZ

RST RAID driver version 12.6

RAID 1 volume is consistent with no errors and is in continuous update mode.

I have looked for a list of reasons why the UI would fail and haven't found anything. Is there a utility that can examine the system and provide the reason why acceleration is not an option?

This is my RAID volume:

Description Disk drive

Manufacturer (Standard disk drives)

Model Intel Raid 1 Volume SCSI Disk Device

Bytes/Sector 512

Media Loaded Yes

Media Type Fixed hard disk

Partitions 2

SCSI Bus 0

SCSI Logical Unit 0

SCSI Port 2

SCSI Target ID 1

Sectors/Track 63

Size 931.50 GB (1,000,194,048,000 bytes)

Total Cylinders 121,600

Total Sectors 1,953,504,000

Total Tracks 31,008,000

Tracks/Cylinder 255

Partition Disk # 0, Partition # 0

Partition Size 100.00 MB (104,857,600 bytes)

Partition Starting Offset 1,048,576 bytes

Partition Disk # 0, Partition # 1

Partition Size 901.37 GB (967,835,648,000 bytes)

Partition Starting Offset 105,906,176 bytes

This is the new SSD I am trying to add:

Hello Poolman,

Please check there are not partitions on your SSD. If there is any, you would need to delete the volume or the partition. Do not format the drive.

I found a boot manager partition that is 100MB in addition to the Windows 7 partition. From your response, I assume I need to get rid of it and then run startup repair on Windows 7 to insure it will start properly. Do you agree?

thanks in advance

Poolman,

Where do you have Windows 7 installed?

Because, if you have the OS installed on the SSD, you cannot use it to accelerate the RAID. To accelerate the RAID, the SSD needs to be empty.

Please go to "Disk management" and check if the SSD has any partition. In order to have the "accelerate" option on the RST, all the space on the SSD needs to be unallocated.

Please let me know,

Yes, I have Windows 7.

I had a boot partition for it. I removed it and now the only partition in my RAID 1 array is the Windows 7 partition.

What's next?

Okay - I figured it out.

My RAID 1 array was in recovery mode. After I modified it to be a RAID 1 volume again, the acceleration option appeared when I clicked on performance.

thank you for your help.
