ASurr, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. According to the hardware requirements the Intel® RST version 16.8.0.1000 should be compatible with your platform. Based on the documentation it says it supports Intel® chipset X299: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28400/eng/Readme.txt And also it states that supports Windows*10 1809 or RS5: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28400/eng/Release_Note_16_8_0_1000.pdf So, what we can try is to un-install the application from "Apps and Features", reboot the PC and install it again: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28400/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interface-and-Driver-for-Intel-7th-8th-Generation-Platforms Now, I also looked in Gigabyte's web site and the Intel® RST version validated by them as fully compatible with your platform is 17.0.0.1072, you can always try to install that version: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X299-UD4-rev-10#support-dl-driver-sataraidahci Regards, Alberto R. As of yet, I cannot uninstall the driver. Due to what is shown in the attached image. The upgrade process fails with the same error using the Gigabyte provided driver as well. A backup of the array is in progress. Afterward I will attempt to perform a more aggressive uninstallation.

ASurr, Thank you very much for letting us know that information. We will do further research on this matter, in order for us to be able to do that, please provide the Intel® RST report: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006351/technologies.html Regards, Alberto R. Alberto,

I cannot run this report as when I open RST it prompts me to update. When I acknowledge the prompt the program closes.

ASurr, I just received an update on this matter. I have noticed the Gigabyte has a newer version for this motherboard model X299 UD4, please remove our software and reinstall it, using the link above. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X299-UD4-rev-10#support-dl-driver-sataraidahci If the problem persists after that, then the next thing to do will be to get in contact with Gigabyte support for them to provide further suggestions on this topic, since our driver should get installed without any issues: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Support Regards, Alberto R. Alberto,

It will not allow me to uninstall the driver due to it being a "primary" drive, although it's quite not. The vendor provided software package presents the same error as the Intel package. It is starting to look like I will have to remove the array, uninstall the driver, reform the array and install the newest driver.

ASurr, Thank you very much for letting us know those results. Yes, if the Intel® RST version provided by Gigabyte shows the same error, then in this case to remove the array, un-install the driver, reform the array and install the newest driver will be the next workaround to do, please make sure to back up all the important information before trying any changes on the RAID configuration.
