I am unable to install the Intel RST driver update 17.7.0.1006 on my system. I have version 16.8.2.1002 installed.

The installation of the driver update fails every time I try to install it. I have tried rebooting the system, etcetera, however, nothing helps. The system info and log files for the failed install are listed below.

Installation of Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) 17.7.0.1006 is failing because the following components are not supported by this version.

• Intel® Core™ i7-4820K Processor
• Intel® X79 Express Chipset --Intel® 7 Series Chipsets

The version of Intel® RST that supports Intel® 7 Series Chipsets and and your Intel® Processor is 14.8.16.1063.
