Attempting to install this version: Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) User Interface and Driver <https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29339/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interface-and-Driver?product=35125> produces this error:
"The setup program ended prematurely due to the following error:
THIS PLATFORM IS NOT SUPPORTED"
That doesn't make any sense.
A copy of the file created by the SSU.exe utility is located here:
https://www.seibercom.net/logs/intel-summary.txt
And the install log is here:
https://www.seibercom.net/logs/IntelRST.log
I would appreciate any help available. 😀

- The SSU report is not reachable (at least for me). Please attach the .txt file to your post, using "paperclip" (under the left bottom corner).
- The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology and Intel® Optane™ Memory applications have reached End of Life. Please see more information here
- Please read the Optane Installation Guide to see the software and hardware requirements how to enable Optane.
- You don't need the RST or Optane applications is you are not accelerating your drive using Optane Memory Module or not working in RAID configuration.

I am totally aware of Intel's policy change regarding RST. I need the updated driver because the Opane module supplied by Microsoft will not work with the outdated RST I have installed.

- After reading your SSU report it seems to me that you haven't any Optane Memory Module installed in your computer. So you don't need any RST software, because the only drive I can see in your system is Seagate 1TB HDD.
- BTW, Optane Installation Guide, I've referenced in my post above, you may find all instructions how to update the RST drive (para. 3.1, sub para. 1 trough 4), however as I mentioned already, I don't see any reason to do this.

Dell has this irritating habit of installing or offering software that is not needed. If you are not using RAID and you are not using Optane, uninstall RST completely!.
