IASTOR interface not working

IASTOR interface has suddenly stopped appearing/working on my Win7 64 system. It's RAID 1 and I now don't have any way of verifying the discs on my computer which I am used to doing on a weekly basis. I don't know what version of the software is installed. Intel RST is starting when I fire up the computer - I get the usual tick on the icon - and seems to be working fine. Can anybody help me with this issue?

Hello Argyll,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

What is the motherboard model on your system or chipset model?

Would you please provide us with the IRST version that you installed?

Also, I suggest you to update the BIOS on your system if it is out of date and run Windows® update.

Regards,

Hi Ivan,

The motherboard is an Asustek P6X58D-E(LGA1366)

Chipset is Intel X58 Revision 13

IRST version 13.6.0.1022

RAID 1 in use with 4 physical disks set up as C & D drives.

I haven't updates a BIOS since the days of DOS and don't know how that would affect my RAID system, which was set up by the company I bought my system from. Basically I'm not confident doing it myself.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the information Argyll, for a BIOS update I suggest you to contact your computer manufacturer to guide you how to do it.

Please try this newer version for the IRST, you can download it here:

Also, try the latest INF driver, you can download it here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20018/INF-Update-Utility-Primarily-for-Intel-6-5-4-3-900-Series-Chipsets-Zip-Format?v=t https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20018/INF-Update-Utility-Primarily-for-Intel-6-5-4-3-900-Series-Chipsets-Zip-Format?v=t

The INF driver can help solving RAID issues since the RAID is manage by the chipset.

If it does not work, you can try updating these drivers from your computer manufacturer website:

If it doesn't work I suggest you to contact your computer manufacturer for further support.

Hi Ivan,

This issue has not been solved and the version of ISTOR worked perfectly until I did an update to Windows and (I think) Zbrush. This problem has also affected Capture One and Snagit both of which start but never show their interfaces. They both appear in the processes tab of Task Manager when started, but after a few seconds it looks like each process is cancelled and they just vanish. These two pieces of software worked perfectly prior to installing the update to Windows and Zbrush. Overall that's three programs that no longer work in Windows including ISTOR

Thank you for the information, in this case, is it possible for you to do a system restore to a point when the unit was working fine or to uninstall the Windows® update that it was installed on your system?

Yes that's what I initially thought I could do, but haven't done it yet as I am in the middle of packing up and moving house. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when this started to happen, but I usually run ISTOR weekly (on Saturdays) and it hadn't identified any problems for the past couple of months although with programs now failing to start I'm not sure if that would now be the case.
