IRST15.7.1.1015_RS2_20170718 drivers are broken

I recently updated the irst drivers for my Asus Maximus Hero VIII to IRST15.7.1.1015_RS2_20170718 the latest driver from asus, since installing my Raid 0 drivers do not sleep instead they get stuck in a loop trying to shutdown over and over again making my hard drive led stay on solid and the drives make noise constantly, when I shut the system down I can hear the drives making a similar noise, trying to turn off but not able and so they keep retrying until the system turns off, I thought maybe it was just the raid drives but after unplugging and leaving a single 4tb Seagate drive connected I have the same issue and can hear the drive making the same noises as the raid array attempting to turn off but unable so the drives just keep trying in a repetitive noise loop.

I have reinstalled the drivers a number of times but the issue remains, if I go back to the IRST_Win7-81-10_V14501081 the problem is gone.

I have also contacted Asus about the issue

Wizzzzard: Thank you very much for reporting this matter to the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology communities. We are sorry to hear the system is showing this type of behavior.

In order to try to fix this problem, we recommend to install the Intel® RST version that was validated by ASUS. Please un-install the current Intel® RST version, then restart the PC and install the one showing on the link below, it should work with your system:

Version 14.5.0.1081&13.1.0.1058

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/RAID_AHCI_Win7-8-81-10_V13101058_V14501081.zip?_ga=2.254725576.1966924624.1503691703-1194431175.1461701251 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/RAID_AHCI_Win7-8-81-10_V13101058_V14501081.zip?_ga=2.254725576.1966924624.1503691703-1194431175.1461701251

If the problem persists after that, then the best thing to do will be to get in contact with ASUS directly so they can maybe try to replicate this scenario:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Wizzzzard: You are very welcome. We just wanted to make sure that you were installing the correct Intel® RST version, let me apologize for any inconvenience. From our side the best thing that we recommend to do is to keep using the version 14.5.0.1081, since there are no problems when use it. If you need to install version 15.7.1.1015, then we recommend to get in contact with ASUS again, just to confirm if they have any reports or known issues about this subject or to check if they can try to replicate the issue in their lab, using the same board you have with the same Intel® RST version that you are trying to install.

As an option, also we can try to look for the "Change Link Power Management" setting under the "Performance" tab on Intel® RST, and then disable it if it is enable, or enable it if it is disable, just to check if it makes any difference on the performance of the RAID.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Yes I will continue to use 14.5.0.1081 since it is working properly.

I have yet to receive a reply from Asus.

Wizzzzard: Perfect, yes, that will be the best thing to do and also to wait for ASUS's response.
