Ive got an asrock C226 Workstation/Server motherboards and have just installed windows server 2016, asrock doesnt have a driver for Windows server 2016 so i installed the 2012 R2 driver. But now none of my HDDs in the Intel controllers sata ports are detected.
I tried downloading the RST driver from intel site V15 but it says my system isnt supported. Ive tried a few of the older RST drivers but none seem to work, even with the default "Standard AHCI Sata Controller" driver only my SSD is picked up. it does sometimes pick up some of my storage HDDs but they show as "Unknown Device" and wont initialise.
Has anyone else with the C226 Chipset managed to get the SATA working correctly?
Even the RST Service wont start and the app just crashes.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
JK

john.kenny: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology communities.
In regard to your question, since the Windows® Server 2016 is not validated as fully compatible with the motherboard by ASrock, then, it is expected to have this kind of scenario. We recommend to use any of the operating systems that are fully compatible with the board:

At this point the best thing to do will be to get in contact directly with ASrcok to verify if they have further suggestions on this matter:

Any further questions, please let me know.
