I have a Dell Latitude E6530 running Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST).
I have a 750GB Master Drive and a 2TB Recovery Drive. 1.25TB on the Recovery Drive is not available/usable. I chose Recovery (instead of RAID 1), but not for any particular reason other than ignorance.
I am considering purchasing a 2nd 2TB Drive to replace the Master Drive.
I just read the following article:
Move a RAID 1 Volume to Larger Hard Drive
Last Reviewed: 29-Jun-2016
Article ID: 000005837
Based on the information in this article, can this procedure also be done with a Recovery Volume?
Is there a size limitation with a Recovery Volume (I have seen others mention 1.3TB limit)?
If there is a size limitation, can I convert this to a RAID 1 Volume?
If I convert to a RAID 1 Volume, what are the pros/cons of RAID 1 vs. Recovery Volume?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi,
1. I have done this procedure with a raid 1 volume, I have never tested a recovery drive
2. There is a volume size limitation of 2Tb
3. This type of RAID migration or conversion to RAID 1 does not seem to be supported, see the link below
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005997.html Supported RAID Migrations for Intel® Rapid Storage Technology
4. Check the Intel® Rapid Storage user guide for information about Pros and Cons of the RAID 1 vs Recovery Volume
