Hello,
I have an ASUS P8P67 Pro motherboard with the P67 chipset with a 1TB Wester Digital Black SATA III drive set to AHCI mode. I have the drive connected to the Intel 6Gb SATA port and was wondering if I should install the RST 10.5.0.1027? I have read that this will install an updated AHCI driver - basically replacing the Microsoft driver that's currently installed. Is this necessary, is it safe, will I see any benefit? I have also read that there's no uninstall; so I just want to make sure that installing this driver is the right thing to do.
I was going to install this package:http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20023 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20023
STOR_Vista_Win7_10.5.0.1027_PV.exeThanks for any clarification/assistance.

I think the main advantage of these is 3TB support and the Z68 chipset SDD to HDD caching, give it a try it you want.
