Platform not supported, how do I figure out the right version?

I am trying to install a 3TB drive, and since the partition is defaulting to the wrong size of 746.39 GB it's been suggested that I update my RST software and drivers. However, when attempting to install the latest version of RST for my WIn 7 64-bit PC, I gt the Platform Not Supported error.

I have run the Intel SSU and attached the report. How do I figure out which version of RST to install, and will that version fix my partitioning problem?

Thanks,

Carlo

Hello CrashAlpha

I understand that you are having issues when installing Intel® Rapid Storage Technology in your system.

I noticed that you are installing a 3TB drive in your system that displays a partition that is about 746.39 GB, so let us ask:

Is the hard drive initialized on GPT or MBR? Remember that for hard drives that contain 2TB or more, GPT must be selected when initializing the unit

Have you tried to format the device and then install it again?

Is it a primary drive for the OS, or is it going to be a secondary storage unit?

Based on the report, we noticed that you own a GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard from Gigabyte*, in this case, you should USE the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology version optimized by them (10.6.0.1002) found here under the SATA RAID/AHCI option:

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-X58A-UD3R-rev-20# support-dl-bios https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-X58A-UD3R-rev-20# support-dl-bios

As well remember to keep the BIOS of your machine updated.

Please test the app and let us know the outcome

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards.

The hard drive was initialized to MBR, I knew the only issue was RST. The resolution to the problem was downloading and executing the proper version of IRST per the link you provided, which was original purpose of this request.

Thanks for advising me on where I could find it, I did not know that this was a build that was specific to Gigabyte.
