RAID 1 - Health monitoring

Hey everyone,

i got some Workstations with Intel RAID 1, in device manager i found 4 storage controllers. I dont know why. Maybe someone can explain.

But my main problem is:

I want to get a email notification if one of the m2. ssds gets broken, like intel RST. But i only have intel optane memory&storage management and i'm not able to install intel RST. I don't trust the windows notifications Feature of the new intel crap, especially because Intel optane memory and storage management isn't mentioned there...

is there any solution to that? Is it possible to run a powershell script for that as a solution? Or can you recommend third party applications for the monitoring?

Sorry for bad english and a big thank you in advance.

Sadly, some pinhead in Marketing decided that the new implementation didn't need email support. This shortcoming was, um, vigorously discussed (here and elsewhere). My understanding is that they are presently looking into restoring this capability. If/when this capability will appear is unknown. Further, since Intel Customer Support is prohibited from speculating regarding forthcoming features and release dates, you won't hear anything through them before this feature is ready and appears for download.

Now, this *is* RST that we're talking about. I am not sure what you mean when you say you 'cannot install Intel RST'.

Thank you for response.

Yeah i already read a lot about it, but nothing about an workaround.

If i'm trying to install the older intel rst instead of optane memory stuff i get error massage "system is not supportet" . (I have the feeling that opatne memory is sometimes called intel rst too)

I read something about incompatibilities of newer cpu architectures in my research.

noHand99, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

I just wanted to check if the issue with the Intel® RST installation persists and if you need further assistance on this matter?

If you do, please attach the SSU report from at least one of your workstations so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello everyone, I have finally found a solution - more of a workaround, actually.

I discovered the event in the Windows Event Viewer that occurs when the RAID system is "degraded". This event only appears once and does not reoccur until the RAID level is fixed and subsequently broken again.

So I have attached a PowerShell script (for email notification) with the Task Scheduler for this event. As a result, we now have a basic email notification system in place.

Kind regards
