Today the Intel Rapid storage system will not start; icon showed "RST not running". After attempting to force the app to (via start menu) an error appeared: an unknown error occurred while running this application. If the problem persists, please restart your computer or try reinstalling this application. I've restarted and shut down the PC even removed power for a few minutes before restarting. Well, the problem is persisting... I'm ok with reloading the software. However, I am unsure which version to reinstall; or if any data will be lost after the reinstallation (will it try to rebuild the RAID?). Is there something that I am missing? My system consist of a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-GAMING7 motherboard. Intel i5-6500 Skylake processor and 2 Seagate 1T HDD on a RAID1 system. Need advise.

Hello Taffy,
I am sorry to hear you are having issues with the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology tool, and I sure can help with your request.
The first thing I would like to share with you is link where you can find the steps to fix the error "RST not running", this in case you encounter this behavior in the future: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/technologies/000005794.html Service Not Running in Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Version 9.6... . Regarding the right driver for your system, my recommendation is to install the following: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_intel_bootdisk_irst_64_100series.zip http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_intel_bootdisk_irst_64_100series.zip, and from my end you can try the following: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26865/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-?product=55005 Download Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST)

Amy C.
