After installing RSTe on a server, and trying to open the GUI (IAStorUI) I get this message:
"An unknown error occurred while running this application. If the problem persists, please restart your computer or try reinstalling the application.". This problem occurs on 2 machines which have the same hardware.
(I can see the IAStorUI-icon in the taskbar which shows that everything is working fine but I can't open it.)
I tried reinstalling it and installing older versions. But nothing helped.
This is the current package I installed:
RSTe_and_AHCI_Drivers_GUI_CLI_CIM_4.3.0.1223
The server:
Windows 7 Pro;
Mainboard: ASUS Z10PA-D8 (C610/X99);
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3
Device Manager: Storage controllers:
Intel C600+/C220+ series chipset SATA RAID Controller (iaStorA.sys, iaStorF.sys)
Intel C600+/C220+ series chipset sSATA AHCI Controller (iaStorB.sys, iaStorF.sys)
-> All .sys-files file version: 4.3.0.1198
Till now google didn't gave me an answer which helped me solve the problem.
Greetings,
Cedric

Dobi: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology communities.
The error could be related to NET framework, so, please try to install the latest version of it 4.7, in order to try to make the RSTe application to work properly:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55170&desc=dotnet47 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55170&desc=dotnet47
If the problem persists after that, then please try to un-install the RSTe application in control panel from the "Programs" option, then restart the PC and install the following version, this is the one recommended by ASUS for your system, version 4.5, look for SATA on the link below:
https://www.asus.com/Commercial-Servers-Workstations/Z10PAD8/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Commercial-Servers-Workstations/Z10PAD8/HelpDesk_Download/
Any further questions, please let me know.

Hello and thank you for your help,
I'm sorry for the late answer but I was some days off.
Actually the .NET framework didn't help.
Uninstalling and reinstalling also didn't change sth.
For trying the "4.5"-Version I haven't got time, but what I know is that there is one machine where RSTe is running fine (also "RSTe_and_AHCI_Drivers_GUI_CLI_CIM_4.3.0.1223" & "All .sys-files file version: '4.3.0.1198'" installed).
I think, the only difference is that everything runs on RAID. On the 2 problematic ones the OS-SSDs run on AHCI.
(Tests I can't do right now, the servers are far away from where I am and there is no remote access allowed.)
Greetings,
Cedric

Hi Dobi: You are welcome. Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
In this case what we recommend is to install the RST provided by ASUS. We understand that you did not got the chance or the option to do that but that will be the next step to try, if the problem persists after that then it could be related to Windows.
So, take your time and once you get the chance, please test RST version 4.5.
Any questions, please let me know.
