In reference to your question, if the SSD is working fine and the performance of the computer is as expected, then there is no need to install the driver update.
We actually recommend to install the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them work with your specific platform.
I looked in Gigabyte's web site and the version of Intel® RST recommended and validated by them is 14.5.0.1081:
