When a Raid error occurred, is an error output by event log? When being output, please tell me a source name.

Hello MKawa17,

Thank you for posting on the Intel Communities.

If you are using Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST), you should be able to see any error occurred on the Intel® RST interface.

As well you can extract a system report for Intel® Rapid Storage Technology by following the steps on the following link:

Thank you for your reply.

I want to check if there is a system log output in order to detect Raid errors on other systems. Isn't it output?

Also, please let me know if there are any logs other than system logs.

Hello MKawa17,

To better understand your inquiry, I would like to know:

  1. By the event log you mean Windows* Event Viewer?
  2. Are you using Intel® RST? Or using a third-party software?
  3. Is this a laptop or a desktop?

It's worth mentioning that the Event Viewer is not going to show the RAID system errors after installing the Intel® RST.

If the event log is not output to the event viewer, please check whether it is output as a text file.

Hello MKawa17,

Thank you for waiting for our response.

In this case, I would like to confirm the information that I have previously provided, that the Event Viewer is not going to show the RAID system errors after installing the Intel® RST.  This is due to software design.

Regarding third-party software/tools, we can not recommend you to use a specific one or provide support for them.

We recommend you to use the Intel® RST user interface in order to check for RAID errors.

Best Regards,
