Why does my MSI GE75 Raider 85E have hundreds of instances of RST that start running a few minutes after startup?

After getting up-to-date with critical Win10 updates a month or so ago I noticed 25-30 of these RST instances running. I more recently updated a bunch of drivers and now there are significantly more of these running - hundreds.

 

How do I determine whether I need RST or not? Can I delete it and/or its drivers without negatively affecting this computer?

Are you going to use RAID? Are you going to use Optane? If the answer to both questions is no, then you do not need to have the RST package installed at all.
