I am a PhD student and I use Intel® Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition 2020 for Windows in my research. My current license will expire soon and I still need to use the product during the upcoming months.
I tried migrating to the oneAPI toolkit, but it did not install on Windows 7. I cannot upgrade to Windows 10 yet because I cannot risk missing my deadline for publication. Can you please extend my current license one year? I will switch to oneAPI as soon as I can move to Windows 10.

Hi Xavier,
I understand the situation. However, I am sorry to let you know that providing a non-commercial or free license for the legacy product Intel® Parallel Studio XE is out of Intel's scope now. You may use the below link to download the toolkits, in case you ever decide to upgrade to Windows 10.

Note: Generally, extension or renewal of a free license is not possible. They can only be re-applied for.
Proceeding further, we are closing this thread. Please create a new thread if there are any other queries or concerns. Have a pleasant day ahead.
Regards,
Soumya

Hi Xavier,
I have checked with my internal team. However, since the transition, providing Intel® Parallel Studio XE as a free tool is outside of our scope.
As previously mentioned, the only way left, to get Intel® Parallel Studio XE suite is by purchasing a commercial or academic license for Intel® oneAPI Toolkits. You may contact our resellers or visit our Webstore for more information regarding the purchase.

Have a nice day ahead.

Hi Soumya,
Thanks for your reply. It is not that I do not want to migrate to oneAPI, just the opposite, if there is a way to install it on Windows 7 please let me know. However, right now I cannot risk upgrading to Windows 10.
Anyway, thanks for your help.
All the best,
xavier

Hi Xavier,
I understand the situation. However, the supported operating system versions from the below link are the only versions tested and supported by Intel for the Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit. You may refer to the below link to find an operating system version that might be available to you or can be used temporarily (as a virtual machine).

Hi Soumya,
Yes, the crux of the matter is that Intel Parallel Studio XE works fine on Windows 7, whereas the mandatory oneAPI replacement requires Windows 10. I hope that once the license expires I can still link to the IPP binaries.
All the best,
xavier
