Hi Team,
We are using Intel® Xeon® D-1649N Processor for our product and we need your help to update BIOS flash. We are using two SPI flash (Winbond SPI flash) of 128Mb memory for storing primary and secondary BIOS.
We want to upgrade the BIOS whenever required without any manual setup. We are trying to write Winbond SPI flash from kernel space using SPI driver but somehow we are still struggling with some SPI related stuff at kernel space and not sure how much feasible it is.
Then we came across AMI AFU utility. We are now planning to use this AMI AFU to upgrade/flash BIOS to primary/secondary space. We are on Linux platform.
Can you please help us to guide on how we can use AMI AFU to update BIOS on this Linux environment. So if you can help us to provide documentation or steps to properly utilize the AMI AFU on our platform. Also please let us know for feasibility to use it and if there is any dependency or risk on doing it.
Thanks,
Sumitra Dwivedi

Hi Sumitra,
Greetings for the Day!
Hope you are doing well, Could you please share more information about the product? For example, the operating system (including its version), motherboard information, current BIOS version, etc.
Note: If you purchased an OEM branded server or appliance, contact your OEM for a SW driver version that is compatible with your exact FW version. Using SW and FW versions that have not been validated to work together will affect performance, feature availability, and system stability
Please do not hesitate in contact us, we are more than glad to assist you.
Best Regards
Azeem
