We got new server on Intel Motherboard s2600wt.

On the first boot system telling, that BIOS version is factory and it need to be updated.

But I can't find anything about that particular version in that motherboard.

SE5C610.86B.01.01.4028.072920191202

Can I update with the last version of bios, 01.01.1029?

Should I even bothering about upgrading BIOS from 07/29/2019?

Hello mishuto-kostya,

I would like to update this thread.

BIOS 01.01.4028 is the factory version of web posting BIOS 01.01.0028.

I am sharing the following document that contains additional details about this factory version and why this was implemented.

In addition, to address your main question, I would like to confirm that this BIOS/firmware can be updated to package R01.01.0029 and 1.01.1029 (Latest).

R01.01.0029 - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29694/Intel-Server-Board-S2600WT-BIOS-and-Firmware-Update-for-EFI

1.01.1029 (Latest) - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29897/Intel-Server-Board-S2600WT-BIOS-and-Firmware-Update-for-EFI

Hello mishuto-kostya,

Thank you for posting your question on this Intel® Community.

The system software is pre-programmed on the server board during factory assembly, making the server board functional at first power on after system integration. Typically, as part of the initial system integration process, FRU and SDR data will have to be installed onto the server board by the system integrator to ensure the embedded platform management subsystem is able to provide best performance and cooling for the final system configuration.

Our recommendation is that you replace the current installed BIOS image with an updated one since BIOS fixes, new features, or changes in functionality are usually available, and it is recommended to bring these ones into the system.

It is important to mention that to update the system firmware stack to the latest versions, the server must meet required firmware stack. You can find more details on our Download Center for each BIOS/firmware available. In other words, our recommendation is that perform incremental updates.

Please find below support articles about performing BIOS updates on Intel® Servers Boards.

But for incremental update I need to know where to start.

None of this:

is suited for my version 01.01.4028. Should I then start with R01.01.0024 or latest?

Hello mishuto-kostya,

To provide accurate information about this event, we would like to have more details about your environment.

Please run the System Information Retrieval Utility (SysInfo) on UEFI and provide us with the log files generated by the utility.

Download link

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29677/System-Information-Retrieval-Utility-SysInfo-

1. Copy the uncompressed .zip file into a local directory (for example, fs0:\sysinfo).

2. Go to the UEFI folder.

3. Run sysinfo.efi.

Sysinfo logs system information in two log files in the LogFiles folder under the current directory (sysinfo_log.txt, PCI_log.txt): sysinfo.efi
