Hello SPigg, Thank you for joining the community. About this SSD issue could you tell if this is installed on a Data Center Block equipment? What method are you trying in order to update the firmware for this device? Could you share the hyperlink where you are downloading the firmware file? We will look forward for this information Regards Jose A. Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Hi Jose

It is installed on a HP DL380 Gen9 running Windows Server 2016.

Using: Intel SSD Data Center Tool x64 -v3.0.16

I don't have any firmware files. I was under the impression (reading the manual and the how-to's online) that it downloads the firmware automatically.

thanks

Hi,

  1. The drives were purchased separately from the server - you should be able to tell from the model number.
  2. The SSD Firmware Update Tool does not support the P3600 (as per the documentation on the Intel Website).

Hi,

sorry, but I don't think you know what this product is...

  1. Yes, the latest version is installed. In Explorer it just shows 2 bars in the circle and then won't continue any further without any error messages. In Chrome it just gives me the error "Oops, something went wrong while trying to scan. Please try again, or see our FAQs for help." There is however no help available for this error message. Windows Server 2016.
  2. We've got 4 units, all are experiencing the same issue.
  3. Based on the model number I gave you, it is impossible to be connected via RAID... NVME u.2 drives only have one possible way to connect to the main board.

Hello SPigg, Thank you for your reply. Based on the information you provided your server is an HP DL380 and your SSD model is an SSDPE2ME020T4D that is an OEM drive meaning that has been designed and modified to work with a specific firmware and hardware in your case a Dell* firmware. This being said, since you already tried using the latest version of our data center tool and you were not able to update the firmware of your drive, we advise you to contact Dell* for an updated version of the SSD firmware.
